Toronto – November 22, 2023, Lifemark Health Group hosted a virtual conference, Moving cases forward: a solutions-based approach, focused on supporting patients and clients from a multidisciplinary approach. The conference featured esteemed speakers, Ravneet Dhillon, Tanya Nichol, and Rebecca Saturley.
Attendees found the conference informative and insightful as it helped offer solutions to support the health of patients from a practitioner and employer point of view.
Nurse practitioner Ravneet Dhillon discussed the important role nurse practitioners play in the health and wellness of their patients. From completing return-to-work forms, to reestablishing health promotion through education, nurse practitioners provide support throughout the various touchpoints of a patient’s healthcare journey.
As a trained registered physiotherapist at Lifemark, Tanya Nichol drew upon her experience to explore solutions-based approaches to helping patients manage persistent pain. By using breath, awareness, and gentle movement, physiotherapists are able to teach patients about their pain and strategies to feel safe while introducing and implementing movement.
Lawyer, Rebecca Saturley focused on the employer’s duty to accommodate the needs of employees by understanding the nature of their disability, how it manifests in the workplace, and steps to provide reasonable accommodation to workers.
“We are pleased to have hosted a conference that shared knowledge of Canadian healthcare to help educate, move everyone forward, and ultimately improve our client and patient outcomes,” shared Julia P. Reid, CPHR, Director Occupational Health & Wellness Services (Canada), at Lifemark Health Group.
